I was a big Green Day fan back in high school
but I must say that adding a company of voices
and the other stage-musical arrangements are just
 mind blowing!


I dare you to listen to 21 Guns without getting goose bumps!

&& while I love this OBC recording, hearing the touring cast live is just---
there really are no words! And so many of the songs are like this!


I guess you'll just have to see it for yourself!

Denver Center Attractions has day-of-performance lottery for AMERICAN IDIOT.

• 2½ hours prior to each performance, patrons at The Buell Theatre box office canenter their names into a lottery drum. 
• Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 22 seats located in the first two rows of the orchestra pit at $25 each. 
• This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. 

AMERICAN IDIOT plays the Buell Theatre March 6 – March 11, 2012.

Okay! HOW could I forget to mention the choreography?

The choreo with the music was just outstanding.

Well I am a sucker for a rocker stance on stage--see my obsession with Spring Awakening!

And there was one choreograph-theme that gave me "Touch Me" flashbacks

But there is this one scene that BLEW ME AWAY!

{In the words of River Song: SPOILERS!}

When Johnny and Whatsername were in the depths of their drug addiction

and they are wrapping and re-wrapping the tourniquet tubing around each other.

THAT ALONE was enough to make me STOKED to be 'closing' the show on Sunday!

Swooning Over Traces

Traces is the most unique show I have seen at the Denver Center.

&& that is saying something because I saw the Blue Man Group there!

My friend Chris called it an 'urban circus'

and while that name is pretty accurate--

it's not nearly encompassing enough!

Words used to describe this show could be

 astonishing | dazzling | spectacular

skillful | gravity-defying | brilliant

dramatic | impossible | outstanding

effortless | emotional | fantastic

&& more but to be honest,

words simply can't encompass this show.

It is performance art and the only way to describe this show is to see it.

Lucky for you, reader, the creators at 7 Fingers

understand the power of the internet and social media.

The audience is allowed to take as much

video and non-flash photography as they want!

Oh-no! I wasn't excited about this revelation at all!

/sarcasm!

Although the acrobatic stuntsof the show are undeniably

superawesometastic!

This show will speak to you.

Be it on the whole or even just a moment.

My favorite was one of Valérie's solo acts.

It spoke to the book nerd in me!

Not only is she so spunky and fun to watch

it reminded me of all the times I have gotten lost in a book,

so deep inside an imaginary world, 

I have no idea how my reading position looks to anyone else. 

Though, Valérie looks way more cute and impressive doing it.

Remember how I mentioned VIDEO!?
So if hearing that news didn't make
the vlogger in me squee
I dunno what would!
It did btw!

I ended up taking 40mins of video!
It was very hard not to say, 'wow, Wow, WOW!'
the whole show but I think I managed...
But there is 40mins, so I haven't sifted through all of it.

you might be aware of another really good reason to see this show...

 

 The artists are really attractive.
Not only that but when I met them at the opening night party
they were so nice and humble.

But let's be honest again,
it is not hard to watch them for 90mins.
Not at all.

As you can see,
it is really easy to get excited about this show...
So I will be blogging and posting videos about Traces a lot!

A 'Wonderful' Night at South Pacific

Remember how I volunteer my booty off for the Denver Center, then go see a show on it's opening night...
This is one of those blogs.. =]

Tuesday night at 8pm South Pacific opened at the Denver Center.

I went.

Obviously.

Now blogger friends, when you think South Pacific, you may think

<- back-in-the-day style...

...or Mr. Shue *cough* Broadway revival with Matt Morrison style:

..which is the style that you should be thinking of.

First, I must share my proof.

Naughty proof at that...

..seeing as one isn't supposed to have their camera phone out...

But alas, it is a tradition.. in this case a blurry one!

And before I go any further...

I feel I must clarify that Mr. Shue is not in the touring cast.

But don't pout. Trust.

Because Anderson Davis IS.

! Swoon-worthy, eh? !

Ok, I'm going to move past the swoon and get professional.

[Ha! That sounds funny even from me!]

Cusack's voice is Stunning!

[yeah bold AND italic emphasis]

Her voice fits the style and music of the era so well.

If you have ever seen any Rogers & Hammerstein, you know what I mean.

As the character she is as funny as she is smart!

Plus the clothes she get's to wear!

I. Love. The. Swimsuits.

[40s orange and red one pieces are love]

...okay then there was the male lead:

holycraponacorndog!! The man can sing!

Apparently he is a operatic bass-baritone...

And shit son! One can tell!

I am not even the biggest opera fan,

 but I'd go to be floored by his voice again!

The next part of my review is something I couldn't legally supply a picture of...

The Set.

at times.... It. Was. Breathtaking. 

 My favorites would have to be the Bali Ha'i backdrop and Emile's terrace/home.

Another thing that is hard to capture in picture format?
The live orchestra sound. Man'o'man.

There is just something about having a full pit that changes the feel of a room.

Over all, the show was a 'wonderful' classic!

After the show Chris, Nathan, Cathie and I all went to the stage door, just in case.

You see, there was an opening night gala and I wasn't sure if we were invited...

But we did get our programs signed by Peter Rini...

..who I must say, in person, does qualify for some Silver Foxy swoon! ;)

After gazing out over the gala from the car park,

Nathan and I headed North toward home..

..though we did stop for an infamous cinna-roll...

The Late Nite Zac Efron Scavenger Hunt

So Kacey and I have really epic Sunday nights.

It usually consists of me going to her place after work for True Blood (maybe some Sonny With a Chance) and a whole bunch of Twitter and Facebook stalking.

Tonight was even more epic with the True Blood promo teaser from last week, the second episode of The Glades and the return of SWAC in the from of a 1 hour special!

Not only were all three eps AMAZING

AND Twitter was all aBuzz and fun...

But Facebook stalking led us to:
"Zac Efron with be doing a 7am radio interview in Denver!"

Well at first Kacey and I took to Google with "Zac Efron Radio Promotion Denver" type Google searchs and NOTHING!

But then we Kacey went in for "Charlie St Cloud Promotions"

[How the HECK did she out Google me!?! #FAIL]

And we discovered he has a signing at the Mall of America tomorrow.

W. T. F. ?!?!

Well we did the info off a boy's Facebook status.

So we figure that it is a RADIO interview and well like Skype and interwebs...

well you don't have to be IRL much anymore.

We figure he will be calling in.

When Being "Guilty" Pays Off

If you have been following blog/twitter/facebook since this post about Spring Awakening, you'd know that spreading awareness about this show has become as much of my day as breathing, eating and sleeping.

Whether it is checking the @springtour blog, Totally Trucked, for a new entry....

...or checking the SPRING AWAKENING, The Guilty Ones-Denver Facebook Fan Page for updates on the show or new posts by my fellow Guilty Ones.

Through out this adventure I have texted, Tweeted, blogged, sang, danced, talked, vlogged, shouted, pranced, posted, pic'd and posed all in honor of my love for this show...

And you'd also know I don't regret a single minute of it!

I love organizing events and running promotions and over the last 2 years I have discovered that this aspect of my life should be apart of my career aspirations.

But enough boring about the future and growing up...

TONIGHT Spring Awakening opens at the Buell Theatre in Denver!

In 5 days, I will get to see this show I have worked so hard for & for the very first time!
