For when I am a Book Blogger: Shelfability

Recently I have signed up on NetGalley.com.
If you don't know about NetGalley is then, read this.

I will still be reviewing all the books I read in my monthly recaps,
but now I will also be highlighting individual books on YouTube.

I am a vlogger first so I will be reviewing these books on my channel
but all of my review will also be posted here on the blog too.

Before I start I have begun to think about how I will format these reviews
and something I am a fan of is rating books with their shelfability.

"Shelfability"
a book blogging term coined by TheStorySiren
I love her. Such an inspiration. ^.^

My "Shelfability" Rankings:

Brag . Buy . Borrow . Burn

  • Brag

This is the kind of book that you have decided that the author must walk on water and you will brag on tumblr, twitter, etc that you are a fan.This is the book that you have bought a copy to read AND a copy to keep pristince but you will also buy a copy to shove at your friends to make them read it.
  • Buy

This is a book you should buy. This book deserves a place on your shelf so it can live happily with your other books. This book is worth the hardcover/1st edition/special edition price.
  • Borrow

This is a book that was liked. This is a book that is worth reading. It was good but you are better off borrowing from the library. (Although my library's hold shelf and I are basically BFFs.)
  • Burn
This this the book where you don't. Just don't. If you have bought this book, then you can turn it into a paper craft or take it camping with you to help as a fire starter--mmm s'mores. (Not many books fall into this category with me but when they do I get really sad.)

Book Recap: April 2012

Here is a recap of all the books I read this month!

Click the covers to open their Goodreads page.

 4 April6 April9 April10 April
Lost Voices
Under the Never Sky  Clarity (Clarity, #1)   As You Wish
13 April17 April21 April28 April
Hammered (Iron Druid Chronicles, #3) Bloodfever (Fever, #2) Faefever (Fever, #3) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

 Dates listed are dates finished.

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban :: J.K. Rowling
    • I ran out of time to read this one in March so here it is!
      • Additionally, I am loving re-reading Harry Potter!
  •  Lost Voices :: Sarah Porter
    • I liked it. It was an interesting take on mermaid lore. I will probably read the next one?
  • Under the Never Sky :: Veronica Rossi
    • I cannot recommend this enough!
      • Possibly my favorite book this month!
  • Clarity  :: Kim Harrington
    • 3.5 stars, really. The 1st half was 3ish and the 2nd half was 4. I will probably read the next one at some point because I like the characters.

  • As You Wish :: Jackson Pearce
    • This was super cute, guys. I knocked it out in a shift at work and 30mins at home. It would be a great summer read for when you want to lie in the sun and burn while reading. !
  • Hammered :: Kevin Hearne
    • For being a 3rd book in a series, this one starts out rather slow. I am happy I read it as for part of the story we are told tales in the POV of 5 other characters. It fit well in the context and it was cool to 'hear' other voices instead of Atticus for a bit. The second half of this one was much better than the first .
  • Bloodfever :: Karen Marie Moning
    • I liked it. I accepted Mac's world a lot faster this time and there wasn't a lot of drawn out catch up for those who skipped book one.
  • Faefever :: Karen Marie Moning
    • The pacing of this book was faster than the first two, or at least it felt like it. Also ending this book made me NEED the next one as if I am pri-ya* and this series is death-by-sex Fae. Woah.
      • *This is a joke tied to a term the book series.
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ::  Seth Grahame-Smith
    • As an Austin Addict and a Darcy lover, this tale was such fun!! Plus it was a great easy read at work when you are constantly only getting bits of time to read.
         && Harry Potter
        Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
         by J.K. Rowling
      • I suck. I didn't make it to reading GoF in April
      Okay MAY! Let's Do This!
