Last night when I got home from work I finished Book 2 of 50.
Rating: The story makes a better movie.
*spoiler free*
I got this book in my stocking this Christmas...
After finishing it I feel 3 things:
1- I wish I had left it off my wish list.
2- I couldn't stand the time-line of the book.
Or lack there of. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to read it but
the author throws random stories about every character at all times
You have to track 6 peoples lives both "present" and past.
I just didn't like the way this book was organized
which is probably why...

3- I liked the movie much, much more.

Sadly, other than the direct quotes from Austen's books,
not much of the rest of the book stood out in my mind.
Although
I did recognize direct lines from the book
that were worked into the movie, which was cool.

I've never read the book but I did see the movie. It was kinda cute. Nothing too special. Sadly I haven't read any of Austen's books yet. One day!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Boba smoothies? I feel if they are down there with Chipotle, they must be amazing but I've never heard of them. I do love me some Chipotle though!
I actually tried to read the book back when the movie came out (which I've still not seen) but I could not get into it at all. I, too, found the different stories and times hard to keep track of. It just wasn't gripping me like a need a book to do. Sad.
